Seeing the smile on our patients’ faces when they are relieved of their issue is the reason we’re here. No one should live their life in daily pain, and at MPSA we treat each of our patients like a member of our own family.

Doctors Kavita Sharma and Michael Ghalchi MPSA Leadership

Dr. Kavita Sharma at Manhattan Pain & Sports

Kavita Sharma, M.D.

Dr. Kavita Sharma is our pain management expert. She completed her interventional Pain Management fellowship at Louisiana State University and did her medical residency at The University of Pennsylvania. She is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in pain management and by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Sharma uses a multidisciplinary approach to treating patients, which may include physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, steroid injections, or other alternate treatment methods. She always makes sure her patients have the most appropriate care – whether it be with her, or elsewhere. Additionally, she is a thought leader in the field and has presented at various conferences such as the American Pain Society and North American Neuromodulation Society.
Personally, she enjoys cooking, traveling, skiing, and researching alternative treatments and dietary approaches to reducing inflammation in the body.

Dr. Michael Ghalchi at Manhattan Pain & Sports

Michael Ghalchi, M.D.

Dr. Michael Ghalchi is the medical director of Manhattan Pain & Sports Associates. As a dedicated cardiologist his interest in a patient’s overall health and a burgeoning opiate crisis led him to pursue creation of a practice that delivered thoughtful and conservative treatment of musculoskeletal issues. He strongly believes that caring for these issues without harmful medications not only improves patient recovery, but improves their cardiovascular status as well.
He graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine, where he remains a member of the teaching faculty. He is a board certified cardiologist, published author, honorary police surgeon for the NYPD, and serves on several medical advisory boards including the American Heart Association YP group.
In his spare time he loves to show his nephews around the city, travel to new and interesting places, and seek out wonderful dining experiences that are off the beaten path.
